The assignment:
Design a cardboard packaging for a chosen kitchen tool. The characteristics of the kitchen tool –colour, line, texture, form, usage- must be reflected in the design and form of the packaging.
the result:
kitchen tool: pasta tongs
These particular tongs had a claw-like characteristic about them. They looked almost like two little hands, but slightly more animal than human. I decided to make a packaging that had nothing to do with pasta, and everything to do with the claw-ishness aspect of the tongs. Treating the handle part of the tongs as arms, I created a packaging resembling 2 bear claws. Because the tongs were white, I chose to make the into polar bear claws.
